International Land Systems (ILS), Inc. has been providing additional support to processing older records to complete a database that will make it easier for citizens to more easily search Giles County government records land recording operations in the Giles County Circuit Court Clerk’s Office.
“We selected ILS because they specialize in providing governments with state-of-the-art solutions,” stated Scarlet Ratcliffe, Clerk of the Circuit Court. “Deeds and titling software from ILS are used worldwide in both deed and titles based land registries. The ILS Land Titles Office (LTO) deeds recording system offers Giles County a proven and adaptable solution that fits our needs. Montgomery County (VA) and Radford City have also signed on to the ILS System.” The Data Manager for ILS is currently stationed in Giles County assisting the Clerk’s office with the scanning of their deed books dating back to 1976, and estimates that the process should be completed within six months. The scanned document images and index data will be made available to the public via the County’s internal LTO public access system and to subscribers of the LTO Online secure remote access website. Diana Johnson, Giles County chief deputy clerk, knows the value of this service. “ILS is committed to helping us meet the challenge of land tenure and administration. Their experience on all scales enabled them to provide us with the tools and methodologies we needed to better meet the needs of our community and residents.” For more information about the ILS Land Titles Office (LTO) please contact Jonathan Haupt, Product Manager, at
